New Delhi, November 10, 2025 — A powerful explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening claimed at least eight lives and left several others injured, sending shockwaves through the national capital.
Officials from the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital confirmed that fifteen people were rushed to the facility soon after the blast. “Eight were declared dead on arrival, three are in critical condition, and one is stable,” the Medical Superintendent said.
Security forces and forensic teams immediately cordoned off the area, while bomb disposal squads began inspecting the site for evidence. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
Eyewitnesses reported a loud blast followed by chaos as flames engulfed nearby vehicles parked near the metro gate. Firefighters managed to control the blaze after a brief struggle.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid spreading rumors and allow emergency personnel to carry out rescue and investigation operations efficiently.
