RCB, Event Organizers Booked for Criminal Negligence in Bengaluru Stampede

Bengaluru, June 5, 2025 — An FIR has been registered at Cubbon Park Police Station against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), event management company DNA Entertainment, the KSCA Administrative Committee, and several others in connection with the tragic stampede outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier this week.

The FIR cites criminal negligence as the cause of the incident, which occurred during a celebratory event organized by RCB following the conclusion of IPL 2025. The stampede resulted in the deaths of three people and left dozens injured, triggering public outrage and demands for accountability.

According to the police, the lack of crowd management, poor coordination, and insufficient emergency response arrangements were key factors that led to the chaos. Authorities are now probing whether security permissions were fully complied with and whether crowd size exceeded what was officially declared.

The police are expected to summon officials from RCB, DNA, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for questioning in the coming days.
