RC, DL Services Now Available at Sewa Kendras and Doorstep in Punjab

Chandigarh, July 26, 2025: The Punjab government has expanded access to 30 Transport Department services, including Registration Certificates (RC) and Driving Licences (DL), making them available at Sewa Kendras and through doorstep delivery under the “Bhagwan Mann Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” scheme. This move aims to cut out middlemen and reduce the need for citizens to visit Regional Transport Offices (RTOs).

Minister of Good Governance and Information Technology, Aman Arora, announced the development during a high-level review meeting at MGSIPA with Deputy Commissioners and senior officers. He directed officials to ensure smooth implementation and warned against any practices that burden citizens with unnecessary objections or repeat visits.

Citizens can now access 30 transport-related and six revenue-related services, including deed registration, mutation requests, and digitally signed Fard copies, by visiting Sewa Kendras or simply dialling helpline number 1076 for doorstep delivery.

Arora emphasized the government’s focus on citizen-centric reforms and urged people to take full advantage of this convenience. He highlighted that the facilitation charges for doorstep delivery have been slashed from ₹120 to ₹50, making the services more affordable.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Anurag Verma, Additional Chief Secretary (GG&IT) D.K. Tiwari, Transport Secretary Varun Roojam, Revenue Secretary Sonali Giri, Director GG&IT Amit Talwar, and State Transport Commissioner Jaspreet Singh.
