Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The Hindu Society of Calgary hosted a special Ramlila performance at the Hindu Temple, commemorating Dusshera with devotion, culture, and community spirit.

The play, which depicts the life and teachings of Lord Rama, was performed by members of the local Hindu community under the guidance of Rajesh Gangahar. In an interview with National Times, Gangahar noted that this marked the second consecutive year the team has staged Ramlila during Dusshera. “It is not just a performance,it is a means of connecting our community with our traditions and values,” stated Rajesh Gangahar.

Rakesh Punj from the Hindu Society of Calgary emphasized the importance of such cultural initiatives. “This effort has been undertaken to disseminate the message of Hindu Dharam to our younger generations, ensuring they remain connected with their roots and heritage,” Punj explained.

The event was warmly received by attendees, many of whom appreciated the dedication of the performers and organizers in bringing to life one of the most revered stories of Indian culture. The evening concluded with festive cheer, reinforcing the significance of Dusshera as a victory of good over evil and truth over falsehood.
