Raja Kushwaha Murder Mystery Deepens: Sonam Raghuvanshi Surrenders, Multi-State Network Busted

Shillong/Ghazipur (National Times): What began as a romantic getaway turned into a mystery gripping multiple states, now, authorities have announced a major breakthrough in the disappearance of Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, a newlywed couple from Indore who vanished in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district last month.

In a public statement, Meghalaya’s Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong revealed that four individuals have been arrested in a sweeping operation that spanned Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Among them are two suspects from Indore and one from Latifpur, Uttar Pradesh. The fourth suspect’s identity is being kept confidential pending further interrogation.

In an unexpected twist, Sonam Raghuvanshi has surfaced, alive, and surrendered herself voluntarily to the Ghazipur Police in UP. She is reported to be safe and cooperative. “She is in the safe custody of UP Police,” Tynsong confirmed, adding that her transit and formal statement are being processed under legal protocols.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT), backed by disaster response forces (SDRF and NDRF) and local law enforcement units, worked tirelessly despite challenging terrain and growing media attention. “Our teams remained steadfast in our commitment to upholding the rule of law,” Tynsong emphasized.

Questions now loom large about what happened between the couple during their honeymoon—and whether foul play, abduction, or a broader conspiracy is at play. The police have not yet commented on the status or condition of Raja Raghuvanshi, whose fate remains unknown.

Legal experts suggest that Sonam’s voluntary surrender could mark a turning point in the case, either as a key witness or suspect, depending on her forthcoming testimony.

Investigations continue, with Meghalaya Police urging the public to avoid speculation and allow the law to take its course.
