New Delhi, May 5 — In a strong diplomatic show of solidarity, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, condemning the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that took the lives of 26 Hindu pilgrims. Expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, Putin assured Russia’s full support to India in its fight against terrorism.
Calling the assault a “brutal crime,” President Putin stressed the need for swift justice against the attackers and their backers. He reiterated Russia’s resolve to work closely with India to eliminate terrorism in all forms.
The two leaders also discussed bolstering their strategic partnership. Putin agreed to Modi’s invitation to visit India later this year for the Annual Summit, a move signaling the deepening bond between the two nations.
The phone call reaffirmed the historic strength of India-Russia relations and their shared objective of ensuring peace and stability in an increasingly volatile region.
