Mohali, June 7, 2025 — Punjabi YouTuber Jasbir Singh Mahal was produced before the Mohali district court on Friday amid serious espionage allegations linking him to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. The police have requested a seven-day remand for further investigation.
During the court proceedings, the government prosecutor informed the judge that Mahal had been introduced to an ISI agent named Danish, who allegedly facilitated contact between Mahal and Pakistani intelligence. Police revealed that Mahal had traveled to Pakistan six times, and during one such visit, his laptop was reportedly in the possession of an ISI agent for nearly 1.5 hours.
The prosecution also claimed that Danish requested Indian SIM cards from Mahal, and that Mahal facilitated a meeting between Danish and one of his female friends.
A laptop belonging to Jasbir Mahal has been seized and is undergoing forensic analysis. Police further disclosed that Mahal’s mobile phone contained 150 Pakistani contacts.
These admissions, according to officials, were made voluntarily by Mahal during police custody. The investigative agencies suspect that he may have shared sensitive data, although the full extent of the breach is still under assessment.
The case has attracted attention due to the national security implications and Mahal’s status as a public figure on social media. The court is expected to hear further arguments on the remand request soon.
