Chandigarh (National Times): In response to the ongoing heatwave sweeping across Punjab, the state government has announced that all Government, Aided, Recognized, and Private schools will remain closed for summer vacation from June 2 to June 30, 2025. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains shared the official announcement regarding the Punjab School Summer Vacation Holidays 2025 on X, putting an end to the anticipation among students and parents. With May 26 already upon us, the confirmation was eagerly awaited by the student community across the state.
In contrast, neighboring Chandigarh had declared summer vacation for government schools earlier, starting from May 23, 2025. Similarly, the Haryana government announced a summer break for all schools in the state from June 1, 2025, reflecting a regional response to the intense heatwave conditions.
