Punjab Rolls Out 3-Day Orientation to Empower Class 9 Students in Schools of Eminence

Chandigarh, May 24, 2025: The Punjab Government has announced a first-of-its-kind, three-day orientation program for Class 9 students newly admitted to Schools of Eminence (SoE) for the academic session 2025–26. The initiative, beginning May 26, aims to support holistic student development and prepare students for academic and career success, said School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains.

The program, running until May 28, will immerse students in the SoE ecosystem through interactions with top professionals, including cabinet ministers, MPs, MLAs, bureaucrats, judges, advocates, doctors, vice chancellors, professors, and industry leaders. Bains stated this exposure will equip students with real-world insights into competitive exams and diverse career paths.

Accomplished alumni will also be invited to share their success journeys, providing motivational guidance on time management, goal setting, and effective study strategies. To foster communication skills and intellectual engagement, students will participate in debates, discussions, and headline reading exercises from English newspapers.

Competitions themed around “Dream Career,” “Current Affairs,” and “My Vision for Punjab” will be held to improve students’ articulation and confidence. Assemblies will focus on values like discipline, self-confidence, and resilience through motivational quotes and discussions.

The program also includes a ‘Make Your Summer Count’ session, where students will set holiday goals, chart study hours, and complete the Summer Activity Challenge with teacher guidance. Principals will oversee the execution and share daily updates with the Education Department through a dedicated Google Form.

Minister Bains emphasized that this initiative reflects the Schools of Eminence’s commitment to fostering both academic excellence and personal growth.
