Punjab Police Thwart Gangster-Driven Attack, Four Arrested in Tarn Taran

Punjab (Gurpreet Singh): In a major success, the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in close coordination with the Tarn Taran Police, has disrupted a planned shooting and arrested four individuals allegedly linked to a gang operating from abroad.

The joint operation, which unfolded in the border district of Tarn Taran, led to the discovery of two illegal .32 bore pistols and four live rounds of ammunition. These firearms were reportedly intended to be used in a targeted shooting plot aimed at specific individuals in the area.

Initial investigations indicate that the accused were acting on the orders of criminals based outside the country, specifically Prabh Dasuwal and Doni Bal, who are believed to have masterminded the plot. Both men are known to have extensive criminal records and are suspected of being key figures in a cross-border crime syndicate.

The four arrested suspects, all with a criminal background, were quickly taken into custody. The Punjab Police have filed an FIR at the Tarn Taran City Police Station, and further inquiries are underway to track down any additional individuals involved in the scheme.

Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, commended the successful operation, emphasizing the state police’s ongoing commitment to dismantling gangster networks that threaten the safety and security of its residents. “This operation is a testament to our unwavering efforts to protect the public from the violence and terror associated with criminal gangs,” said DGP Yadav.

As investigations continue, Punjab Police remain focused on preventing such criminal activities and ensuring peace in the state. The operation marks another step in the fight against gang violence and illegal weaponry in the region.
