Tarn Taran (National Times): In a joint intelligence-led operation, Punjab Police have arrested a man suspected of having links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), raising alarm over potential cross-border threats. The arrest was made in Tarn Taran, where local police, acting on actionable inputs from Counter-Intelligence Punjab, apprehended Gagandeep Singh alias Gagan, a resident of Mohalla Rodupur, Gali Nazar Singh Wali.
Confirming the arrest, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) stated that Gagandeep Singh had been in communication with ISI operatives, suggesting a serious security concern. The operation was part of an ongoing effort to dismantle anti-national networks active within Punjab.
Authorities have launched a deeper investigation into Singh’s activities to trace possible accomplices and understand the scope of the suspected ISI-backed network.
Punjab Police reaffirmed their continued resolve to root out elements threatening the state’s security and to maintain vigilance against foreign interference.
