Punjab Police Busts BKI-ISI-Backed Terror Module, Arrests Two Operatives

Chandigarh, February 27, 2025 – In a major breakthrough, the Punjab Police has successfully dismantled a terror module linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The group was behind the recent attacks in Batala, Jaintipur, and Raimal, carried out on January 15 and February 17, 2025.

The Batala Police arrested two operatives, Mohit and Vishal, who were key members of the terror network. The module was orchestrated by USA-based terrorist Happy Passian and Pakistan-based Harvinder Rinda, both known for their links to extremist activities.

During the operation, one of the operatives—who had previously hurled an explosive—opened fire at the police while being taken for weapon recovery. In retaliatory action, the suspect sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital, Batala, for treatment.

As part of the crackdown, the police recovered a 30-bore pistol, marking a critical step in dismantling the terror network.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav affirmed that “justice knows no exceptions” and vowed that every criminal would be brought to justice. He emphasized the Punjab Police’s firm stance against organized crime, ensuring that peace and security remain intact across the state.

Issuing a stern warning to those attempting to disrupt law and order, DGP Yadav declared, “There will be no escape from justice.”

This successful operation highlights the Punjab Police’s relentless efforts in combating terrorism and protecting the citizens from external threats.
