Ludhiana (National Times): In a major crackdown under Punjab’s War on Drugs initiative, the Punjab Police demolished the illegally constructed house of an alleged drug trafficker in Talwandi village near Ladhowal, Ludhiana, on Monday night.
The smuggler, identified as Sonu, has been booked in six drug trafficking cases in the last three years. Acting on strict directives to curb illegal drug operations, Punjab Police personnel arrived with bulldozers and razed the unauthorized structure as a warning to those involved in the narcotics trade.
A top police official called the move a major step in the fight against drugs, stressing that the administration will take firm action against drug networks and those profiting from illegal activities.
Authorities have confirmed that this is just the beginning of a tougher crackdown, with similar demolitions planned against individuals with illicitly acquired properties linked to crime. This decisive action underscores the Punjab government’s commitment to eradicating drug-related crime from the state.
