Punjab on Yellow Alert for Heavy Rain Over Next Three Days

National Times Bureau :- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Punjab for the next three days, warning residents in several districts to brace for potential waterlogging and disruptions.

Jalandhar has been witnessing heavy showers since late last night, leading to flooding in several low-lying areas. While the downpour has brought relief from humid conditions, it has also caused inconvenience to commuters and residents.

According to the IMD, heavy rain is likely in Rajpura, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mohali, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. Rainfall has been recorded across various parts of the state, turning the weather pleasant but triggering localized flooding in some areas.

Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR is also expected to receive heavy rain today, except for parts of North Delhi. On Wednesday, Abohar recorded the highest temperature in Punjab at 36.2°C, while the state’s minimum temperature rose by 0.9°C, remaining close to normal. Pathankot reported the lowest minimum temperature at 24.9°C.
