Punjab Minister Harjot Singh Bains Opens Homes for Flood Victims, Appeals for Material Aid

National Times Bureau :- Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains has announced that his residences in Gambhirpur and Nangal will remain open round the clock for those affected by the recent floods. In a video message shared on social media, Bains said a dedicated team is stationed at his Nangal residence to provide essential supplies, including food and medicines, to those in need.

He further stated that anyone requiring temporary accommodation can also stay at his homes. A helpline number has been set up to coordinate relief efforts, and incoming calls from the flood-hit areas are being attended to promptly.

Bains clarified that no monetary donations are required and requested well-wishers to send relief materials instead. He mentioned that some individuals had mistakenly transferred money, including an amount of ₹11,000, but emphasized that only essential items are being distributed across affected regions in Nangal.

Appealing to the youth, Bains urged them to prepare sandbags in advance to support ongoing flood management efforts and ensure timely assistance wherever needed.
