Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): Punjab’s ‘Sikhiya Kranti’ is bringing 21 lakh parents together with the Bhagwant Mann Government to transform 19,200 government schools across all 23 districts and make them world-class. The massive participation in the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting reflects the government’s push to involve parents directly in their children’s education and build on Punjab’s No. 1 ranking in education. With a focus on improving learning outcomes and working closely with families, the Bhagwant Mann Government aims to set new benchmarks in school education and build a ‘Rangla Punjab’ where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Cabinet Ministers and AAP MLAs joined the meetings at schools across the state, while departmental officials visited around 2,000 schools to assess arrangements and monitor the proceedings.
On this, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains thanked parents for participating in the Mega PTM in such large numbers and expressing confidence in government schools. He also congratulated the School Education Department for successfully organising the statewide initiative.
The Education Minister said, “The Bhagwant Mann Government wants parents to be active partners in their children’s education. We will work closely with parents and teachers to improve learning, help children move forward and build a brighter future for them. Our goal is to make Punjab’s government schools world-class and ensure that every child gets the best possible opportunities.”
He stated, “The Mega PTM is a unique initiative of the Punjab Government to bring parents and teachers together to build our children’s future. We want parents to understand how their children are progressing and work with teachers to help them do even better. Our collective goal is to build a Rangla Punjab where every child receives quality education and has the opportunity to succeed.”
21 Lakh Parents Join Bhagwant Mann Govt’s Education Revolution
Held under the theme ‘Har Din, Ik Kadam Agge’, the Mega PTM enabled parents to meet teachers, review their children’s report cards and discuss their academic progress, attendance and areas requiring improvement. Teachers also shared practical suggestions to help parents support their children’s learning at home.
The initiative reflects the Bhagwant Mann Government’s approach of making parents active participants in education reform. By bringing families and teachers together, the government aims to ensure that improvements in schools translate into better learning and stronger educational foundations for children.
The meetings also familiarised parents with student-support initiatives of the School Education Department and recognised the contribution of School Management Committees in supporting school development.
Punjab Ranks Number One In Education, Government Sets Sights On World-Class Schools
Punjab’s education reforms under the Bhagwant Mann Government are focused on improving learning outcomes, strengthening government schools and giving children better opportunities to succeed. The government aims to build on its education achievements and make its schools world-class.
The Mega PTM forms part of this effort by allowing parents to understand their children’s progress, discuss areas requiring attention and work with teachers to help them improve. The government’s emphasis remains on ensuring that every child receives quality education and that parents can see the difference in their children’s learning.
Parents Share Experiences Of Education Reforms And Welfare Schemes
Parents participating in the Mega PTM shared their experiences of the Bhagwant Mann Government’s education reforms and welfare initiatives, including the Maavan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna and Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna.
A woman parent expressed gratitude for the Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, saying that the monthly financial assistance would help her manage household expenses and meet her children’s educational needs. “The money could help with expenses such as notebooks, school supplies, uniforms and other essential requirements, while giving her greater financial independence,” she added.
Another parent appreciated the government’s education reforms, saying that regular interactions with teachers helped families understand their children’s progress. The parent said that knowing where a child needed additional help made it easier to work with teachers and provide support at home.
A parent welcomed the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, saying that cashless medical coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family could protect household savings during serious illnesses or hospitalisation. “Not having to arrange large sums for eligible medical treatment would provide greater peace of mind and help families continue meeting their children’s educational expenses,” he added.
Another parent appreciated the Mega PTM for giving families an opportunity to discuss attendance, classroom performance and learning difficulties directly with teachers. The parent said that such meetings helped parents remain involved in their children’s education rather than learning about academic difficulties only at examination time.
Parents said that education initiatives and welfare schemes addressing household finances and healthcare could help families focus more confidently on their children’s future.
The Bhagwant Mann Government reiterated its commitment to strengthening Punjab Sikhiya Kranti, improving government schools and working closely with parents to build a brighter future for children. With the goal of making Punjab’s schools world-class, the government aims to ensure that quality education remains central to building a progressive and prosperous Rangla Punjab.
