Punjab Govt Suspends Amritsar Rural SSP Maninder Singh for Laxity in Anti-Gangster Operations

National Times Bureau :- The Punjab government has suspended Amritsar Rural SSP Maninder Singh after reports indicated serious lapses in action against rising gangster activities in the district. Officials revealed that several major cases did not receive timely attention, raising concerns over weak law enforcement and ineffective steps to curb organised crime. Taking note of these failures, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered immediate suspension, signalling a zero-tolerance approach towards negligence. CM Mann stated that maintaining law and order is the government’s top priority and warned that any officer showing carelessness in the ongoing crackdown on gangsters will face strict consequences. The decision is being viewed as a strong message to the police force across the state.
