Gurpreet Singh :- The Punjab government has constituted a high-level expert committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman. The panel, comprising senior doctors and medical specialists, has been tasked with examining all aspects of the case, including the treatment and surgical procedures involved.
Officials have directed the committee to submit its findings within 15 days. The government has stated that further action will be taken based on the report, and any instance of negligence, if established, will invite strict action against those responsible.
Earlier, Amritsar Police had registered a case against four doctors of a private hospital in connection with Ghuman’s death during surgery. The FIR was lodged following a complaint by the deceased’s father and the findings of a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The case continues to draw attention, with authorities closely monitoring developments pending the committee’s report.
