Punjab Government Appoints Director Land Records as Nodal Officer for Jalandhar Flood Control Room to Strengthen Relief Measures

National Times Bureau :- In an effort to enhance coordination and accelerate relief operations in flood-affected regions, the Punjab Department of Revenue, Rehabilitation, and Disaster Management has appointed Director Land Records, S. Gulpreeet Singh Aulakh, as the nodal officer for the state-level Flood Control Room established in Jalandhar.

Revenue Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian stated that the control room has been actively coordinating with Deputy Commissioners, army officials, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and other concerned departments to ensure seamless disaster management and effective relief measures. He added that the appointment of a dedicated nodal officer will facilitate better coordination, real-time monitoring, swift decision-making, and enhanced communication with field officers to ensure timely action on the ground.

The Director Land Records will serve as a crucial link between field staff, relevant authorities, and the state government, providing regular updates and overseeing the timely implementation of directives. Minister Mundian has directed the nodal officer to ensure smooth coordination and prompt execution of relief activities in affected regions.

It may be noted that, under the directives of the Chief Minister, a state-level Flood Control Room (Phone: 0181-2240064) has been operational round the clock at the Circuit House in Jalandhar to provide immediate response and coordinated action during flood emergencies.

The control room functions under the direct supervision of Information Technology and Administrative Reforms Minister S. Aman Arora, with active support from Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Agarwal and Tourism & Cultural Affairs Advisor Mr. Deepak Bali to ensure its effective functioning.
