Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): Amidst one of the most challenging natural disasters the state has witnessed in recent years, the leaders of the Punjab government, including the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, all ministers and MLAs, have decided to contribute one month’s salary to support flood relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Taking to X, the Chief Minister acknowledged the overwhelming impact of the floods, calling it a reminder of how powerless humans are in the face of nature’s force.
“No one has any power against the onslaught of nature, but let us stand together and support each other in this difficult time. All our ministers and MLAs are donating one month’s salary for the relief and assistance of the flood-affected people. Our government and administration are standing with the people with full dedication. Pray to God, all the conditions will be fine soon,” he said in a post.
This donation is part of a broader state-wide response effort, which includes deploying rescue teams, setting up temporary shelters, and ensuring the distribution of essentials in severely affected regions. The administration has assured that every possible measure is being taken to bring relief to those suffering.
