Firozpur, May 13, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday expressed deep condolences to the family from Khai Fame village in Firozpur, which was struck by a Pakistani drone attack in recent days. One member of the affected family died during treatment in the hospital, prompting an outpouring of sympathy from the state government.
In a public statement on social media, the Chief Minister confirmed that the government will provide financial assistance totaling ₹10 lakh to the grieving family. Of this, ₹5 lakh will come from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, while another ₹5 lakh will be contributed by Member of Parliament Sanjeev Arora.
Mann emphasized that while no compensation can ever replace a human life, the assistance is meant to support the family in this time of immense loss. He reiterated the state’s commitment to standing with its citizens during moments of crisis, particularly when lives are lost to hostile cross-border actions.
This announcement comes amid heightened tensions following recent hostilities near the India-Pakistan border, where drone incursions have increasingly threatened civilian areas.
