Chandigarh, September 28, 2025: Punjab Legislative Assembly Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Sunday paid homage to revolutionary freedom fighter Shaheed-E-Azam S. Bhagat Singh on his 118th birth anniversary. He said that Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life to free India from British colonial rule.
Speaker Sandhwan emphasized that Bhagat Singh led a fearless struggle against British oppression to secure freedom for the people of India. His contribution to the country’s independence movement, he said, was unparalleled and continues to inspire generations.
“The bravery, courage, and ideals of Shaheed Bhagat Singh remain indelible in our history. The nation salutes his martyrdom, and we should follow the path shown by him,” the Speaker said.
Highlighting Bhagat Singh’s remarkable achievements at a young age, Sandhwan noted that he inherited wisdom from his family and had a profound love for reading. “Books were his food, and they played a pivotal role in shaping his vision and life,” he added.
