Chandigarh, December 17, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said that public service is the fundamental spirit of governance and directed officials to ensure that every citizen approaching government offices with a grievance returns satisfied and treated with respect. He stressed that the prompt, transparent and sensitive redressal of public grievances is not just an administrative responsibility but a moral duty that must be accorded the highest priority.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Gurugram. Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Pataudi MLA Bimla Chaudhary, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwar and Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma were also present. A total of 16 complaints were taken up during the meeting, of which 12 were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued to keep four cases pending till the next meeting with a detailed status report.
Highlighting the impact of grievance redressal initiatives, the Chief Minister said that ‘Samadhan Shivirs’ are being organised regularly every Monday and Thursday at district and sub-divisional levels to provide quick relief to the public. He informed that around 40,000 complaints have been received so far through these camps, out of which nearly 30,000 have already been resolved.
Saini further stated that out of 1.42 lakh complaints received directly by him, as many as 1.35 lakh have been addressed. He added that complaints registered on the CM Window portal are also being resolved expeditiously, with only court-related and family dispute cases currently pending due to legal procedures.
Taking serious note of a complaint from Chhiller village in the Pataudi area, the Chief Minister ordered an inquiry against the PACS manager of Jatauli Mandi. The complainant alleged harassment of farmers, unsatisfactory behaviour and arbitrary practices in fertiliser distribution. The Chief Minister directed officials to conduct a fair probe and submit a report to the Deputy Commissioner at the earliest.
Addressing infrastructure issues, the Chief Minister directed that repair work on the Dhanwapur railway underpass, affected by water leakage and waterlogging, be completed within 15 days to ensure safe and smooth movement for commuters. He also instructed officials to ensure that such problems do not recur in the future.
The Chief Minister issued strict directions to municipal authorities to ensure that sewer covers are intact and there is no sewer overflow anywhere in the city. Emphasis was also laid on improving cleanliness, waste management and maintaining hygiene. The power department was instructed to ensure that electricity poles do not obstruct roads or pose risks to public movement.
Saini also took cognisance of illegal encroachments on green belt land in Gwalapahari village under the master plan. He directed the Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation to jointly conduct on-site demarcation and take strict action against any illegal occupation. He made it clear that encroachment on government land, especially green belts meant for public use, will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
