Privilege Motion Moved Against Sukhpal Khaira Over Remarks on AAP MLAs

Gurpreet Singh :- A privilege motion has been moved in the Punjab Assembly against Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira following his controversial remarks about legislators of the Aam Aadmi Party. The issue was raised after Khaira allegedly referred to AAP MLAs as “labourers,” a statement that sparked strong objections from the ruling party members. Taking serious note of the comment, AAP legislators brought the matter before the House and demanded action, terming the remark derogatory and an insult to elected representatives. The privilege motion seeks to examine whether Khaira’s statement amounts to a breach of legislative privilege. The development has intensified the ongoing political confrontation between the opposition and the ruling party in Punjab.
