Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Premier Danielle Smith and Minister of Energy and Minerals Brian Jean will travel to Houston, Texas to promote Alberta as the answer to long-term, global energy security at the CERAWeek conference.
Alberta will have an increased presence at one of the world’s most important energy conferences, running from March 10 to 14. International decision makers, industry leaders, technology innovators and government officials will gather to explore this year’s theme, Moving Ahead: Energy strategies for a complex world.

While attending CERAWeek, Premier Smith and Minister Jean will meet with international government officials and business leaders to promote Alberta’s responsible energy sector and the role the province can play in a secure energy future. They will also reassert Alberta’s place as a resource leader and reinforce the critical work being done to ensure the province is situated to provide both North American and global energy security while identifying additional ways to meet ever-evolving energy needs and reduce reliance on products from conflict zones. Both Premier Smith and Minister Jean will also participate in panel discussions and other speaking events during the conference.
Premier Smith will travel with five staff members and Minister Jean will travel with two staff members. Trip expenses for Premier Smith and Minister Jean will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
