National Times Bureau :- A dramatic police encounter unfolded in Bathinda on Saturday when officers confronted two men accused of snatching purses from women earlier this week. According to officials, the suspects opened fire while being chased, prompting retaliatory gunfire from the police.
One of the accused sustained a bullet wound to his leg, while his accomplice was apprehended at the scene. Both men, identified as Amanpreet Singh and Amandeep Singh, have multiple prior cases registered against them.
Police revealed that the suspects had allegedly snatched purses from two women on August 19, leaving one victim critically injured with a severe head wound. She remains hospitalised in serious condition.A motorcycle and a 9mm pistol were recovered from the accused. A forensic team is examining the site, and further interrogation is underway to determine their involvement in other crimes.
