Madhubani, April 24, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning to the perpetrators of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, vowing that India will “identify, trace, and punish every terrorist and their backers,” sending a clear message of zero tolerance against terrorism. The statement comes just two days after the brutal attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley, which killed 26 people, including tourists and local horsemen, and left many others injured.
Addressing the nation during a National Panchayati Raj Day event in Bihar’s Madhubani, Modi led the gathering in observing a minute of silence for the victims and expressed his deepest condolences. “On this sacred land of Bihar, I tell the world—India will not forget this pain. We will chase down every terrorist and their handlers to the ends of the earth. They will face justice,” he said.
Calling the attack a “cowardly and barbaric” act, Modi reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to fight terrorism unitedly. “This is not just an attack on innocent people. It is an attack on humanity and on India’s growing stature in the world,” he noted.
The Prime Minister emphasized that those who believe they can shake India’s resolve through such acts are gravely mistaken. “We are united. We are strong. And we will strike back. The enemies of peace will be punished,” he declared.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined Modi in condemning the attack and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families, assuring full cooperation with the central government in all national security efforts.
The Centre has also announced an all-party meeting in Parliament, where security measures and diplomatic responses are expected to be discussed. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to chair the meeting, underlining a collective national strategy to counter future threats.
Meanwhile, investigations into the April 22 attack are ongoing. Security forces, aided by the National Investigation Agency, have intensified combing operations in the Anantnag district. The attack, allegedly orchestrated by The Resistance Front, a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has drawn international condemnation.
As India grieves, Modi’s strong words have resonated across the country, reinforcing a firm stand that such attacks will not go unanswered.
