PM Modi Visits Uttarakhand, Announces Rs 1,200 Crore Relief Package for Flood and Landslide Victims

Dehradun, September 11, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dehradun on Thursday to assess the damage caused by recent floods and landslides in Uttarakhand. He announced an immediate financial aid package of Rs 1,200 crore to support affected communities.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to families who lost loved ones, announcing an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured. Children orphaned in the disasters will receive full support under the PM CARES for Children scheme.

During his visit, PM Modi met with affected residents and lauded the efforts of NDRF, SDRF, and other disaster relief volunteers. He also revealed plans for a special PM Awas Yojana project to reconstruct homes damaged by floods and landslides.

The Centre will provide comprehensive assistance to restore essential infrastructure, including roads, schools, and other public facilities. Damage assessments are being conducted by central teams, with further support to follow based on their findings.

“The nation stands united with Uttarakhand during this crisis,” PM Modi said, assuring continued support for relief and rehabilitation efforts.
