PM Modi Visits Flood-Hit Punjab, Likely to Announce Relief Package

Pathankot (Gurpreet Singh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Pathankot today to review the situation in Punjab’s flood-affected areas. Earlier, he had visited Himachal Pradesh, where he announced ₹1,500 crore in financial assistance after assessing the damage caused by floods and heavy rainfall.

At Pathankot, BJP Punjab Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur warmly welcomed the Prime Minister. She said, “It is a matter of great pride to welcome Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji in Pathankot today. He has specially come to visit the flood-affected regions and personally review the situation. His visit sends a strong message of hope and courage to every citizen of Punjab.”

The Prime Minister is scheduled to conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Punjab. Following this, he will hold a meeting with local administration and officials to discuss relief and rehabilitation measures. Sources indicated that Modi may also announce a financial assistance and relief package for Punjab, which could include special support for farmers, cattle rearers, and affected families.

During his earlier visit to Himachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister highlighted schemes like PM Awas Yojana for resettlement, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, and water conservation structures. Similar initiatives are expected to be extended to Punjab as well.
