New Delhi, September 15, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan on September 17, alongside the 8th edition of Poshan Maah, in a nationwide effort to boost healthcare and nutrition services for women, adolescent girls, and children.
The campaign, coordinated by the ministries of health and family welfare and women and child development, will combine medical outreach with nutrition-based awareness drives. The health ministry will provide preventive and curative services through health camps and public facilities, while the women and child development ministry will mobilise women and girls via Anganwadi centres for counselling, recipe demonstrations, and nutrition education.
According to officials, the programme will intensify screenings for anaemia, tuberculosis, sickle cell disease, and non-communicable illnesses, while also promoting maternal care, immunisation, menstrual hygiene, mental health support, and healthy lifestyle practices. Voluntary blood donation and obesity prevention have also been included.
Union Health Minister JP Nadda stressed that the initiative is aimed at improving access to healthcare, raising awareness, and ensuring better quality of treatment. He urged private hospitals and medical institutions to take part in this large-scale Jan Bhagidaari Abhiyaan.
Running from September 17 to October 2, the campaign will be carried out at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, community health centres, district hospitals, and government facilities nationwide. With over one lakh health camps planned, it will be the largest outreach of its kind for women and children in India.
Specialist doctors from gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, dermatology, psychiatry, and dental services will be engaged through medical colleges, central institutions, and private hospitals. Institutions such as AIIMS, Defence and Railway hospitals, ESIC, CGHS centres, and national institutes will also contribute.
The mobilisation effort will involve Union and state ministers, MPs, local representatives, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, self-help groups, youth organisations, and panchayati raj institutions, ensuring maximum community participation.
