Vadodara, May 26, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a grand roadshow in Vadodara today as part of his two-day visit to Gujarat, during which he is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a series of mega development projects totalling over ₹77,000 crore.
The roadshow marks the beginning of a packed itinerary aimed at bolstering infrastructure, connectivity, and industrial growth in the state. The Prime Minister is set to visit Dahod, Bhuj, and Gandhinagar between May 26 and 27.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi will reach Dahod by 11:15 AM where he will inaugurate a state-of-the-art Locomotive Manufacturing Plant that will produce 9000 HP electric locomotives, enhancing the freight capacity of Indian Railways and supporting environmental sustainability with features like regenerative braking systems. He will also flag off the first locomotive manufactured at the facility and address a public gathering.
Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various projects worth approximately ₹24,000 crore in Dahod. These include multiple rail initiatives and Gujarat state government infrastructure projects. Among the launches are the Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad and a new express train between Valsad and Dahod.
In Bhuj, Modi will launch projects worth more than ₹53,400 crore at 4 PM. These include major transmission lines for the evacuation of green energy from the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, an ultra supercritical thermal power plant unit at Tapi, and key upgrades at Kandla Port. Numerous state government-led projects focused on roads, solar energy, and water resources will also be flagged off.
On May 27, the Prime Minister will head to Gandhinagar to participate in the celebration of “20 Years of Gujarat Urban Growth Story” and launch “Urban Development Year 2025” at around 11 AM. He is expected to address a large gathering during the event.
This visit underscores PM Modi’s continuing emphasis on modernising Gujarat’s infrastructure and ensuring its role as a key driver of India’s economic growth.
