PM Modi to Gift Major Development Projects to Haryana on April 14, Says CM Nayab Saini

CM reviews preparations in Yamunanagar, highlights thermal power unit and Hisar airport as major milestones

Chandigarh, April 6 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday visited Yamunanagar to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit on April 14. The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate two key projects: a 800-MW thermal power unit in Yamunanagar and the new terminal of Hisar Airport.

Speaking to the media after inspecting the venue, CM Saini said the projects will play a vital role in connecting the vision of a developed India with a developed Haryana.

He emphasized that electricity is the need of the hour—be it for railways or electric vehicles. The 800-MW thermal unit, being constructed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), will cost ₹7,272 crore and is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.

The Chief Minister said that he had held meetings with officials to ensure flawless execution of both events in Yamunanagar and Hisar. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing preparations and said that people across the state are eager to welcome the Prime Minister.

He added that the benefits of these projects will extend not just to Haryana but to the entire nation. Referring to BJP’s strong performance in recent Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body elections, he said that the pace of development in the state is now set to triple.

CM Saini also inspected arrangements at the event site, including the main pandal, VIP gallery, media section, parking areas, drinking water points, and sanitation facilities. He instructed officials to ensure no inconvenience is caused to visitors and that adequate amenities are available at both the venue and parking areas.

The review meeting was attended by BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, former Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal, Mayor Suman Bahmani, and other senior officials.
