Guwahati (Gurpreet Singh) — Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on Friday, March 13, 2026. During a high-profile event in Guwahati, the Prime Minister utilized Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to distribute approximately ₹18,650 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore eligible farmers across the country.
The release of the instalment, which took place at 5:00 PM, marks a continued commitment to providing income support to landholding farmer families. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive a financial benefit of ₹6,000 per year, disbursed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 every four months.

In conjunction with the national event in Assam, local administrations across India organized live viewing sessions to ensure grassroots participation.
- Dhanas Program: The Chandigarh Administration’s Department of Agriculture and Department of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries hosted a live telecast at the Government Veterinary Hospital in Dhanas.
- Key Attendance: The virtual event was attended by senior officials including Sh. Pardeep Kumar (IAS), Secretary; Sh. Naveen (DANICS), Director; and Dr. Ashwani, Joint Director.
- Farmer Participation: Approximately 55 farmers from the Chandigarh region participated in the program, witnessing the direct credit of funds and listening to the Prime Minister’s address regarding agricultural reforms and development.
