Chandigarh, October 11 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the newly launched ‘Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana’ and ‘Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission’ will play a vital role in making Indian agriculture stronger, self-reliant, and transformative for farmers’ lives. He added that Haryana’s Nuh district is among the 100 districts where the Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana has been introduced.
Speaking at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide launch event, Saini said these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring food security and increasing farmers’ income. The Prime Minister inaugurated over 1,100 agricultural projects worth ₹42,000 crore, including initiatives under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing.

Saini expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, saying that his leadership has ushered in a new era of prosperity for farmers. He called the schemes a “historic milestone in India’s agricultural journey,” aimed at turning the nation into the “food basket of the world.”
The Chief Minister noted that Haryana’s Nuh district will benefit immensely from the Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, which will accelerate the rural economy of Mewat. Highlighting India’s progress since 2014, he said that the nation has moved from being food-deficient to self-sufficient in wheat and rice, and is now a major exporter of several crops.
On the Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission, Saini said the initiative will boost the production of pulses such as tur, urad, and masoor. He praised Haryana’s farmers for swiftly adopting new technologies and diversifying crops according to market demand. “Just as our hardworking farmers led the Green Revolution, they will now lead the pulse self-reliance mission,” he said confidently.
He announced that farmers will be provided with high-quality seeds to expand pulse cultivation, which has already grown from 1.95 lakh acres in 2019–20 to 2.67 lakh acres in 2024–25. The government plans to expand this area further.
Saini also highlighted Haryana’s efforts to empower farmers digitally, noting that over ₹1.48 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers’ accounts under the MSP procurement system via the e-Kharid portal. Farmers can now generate e-gate passes from home through a mobile application, and payments are made within 48 hours of produce delivery.
Reiterating the state’s commitment to protecting farmers’ interests, Saini said Haryana has enacted laws to curb the sale of fake seeds and pesticides. The government also abolished colonial-era land levies and ensured MSP procurement for 24 crops. For the first time in state history, ₹1,345 crore has been distributed as a ₹2,000-per-acre bonus to farmers growing Kharif crops.
Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, ₹6,563 crore has been credited to nearly 20 lakh farmers in Haryana, while ₹15,145 crore has been paid as compensation and insurance claims for crop losses.
The Chief Minister called upon all stakeholders to contribute to the success of the Dalhan Aatmanirbharta Mission, saying that collective efforts would pave the way for a prosperous and self-reliant India.
The event was attended by Cabinet Ministers Dr. Arvind Sharma, Mahipal Dhanda, and Rajesh Nagar; BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik; legislators; and senior officials including ACS Vijayendra Kumar and CM’s Additional Principal Secretary Dr. Saket Kumar, along with a large number of farmers.
