Ottawa: Prime Minister Mark Carney has congratulated Pierre Poilievre on returning to the House of Commons following his decisive victory in the Battle River–Crowfoot by-election.
In a post on X, Carney wrote, “Congratulations to Pierre Poilievre on returning to the House of Commons, and gaining the honour of representing the people of Battle River Crowfoot in Parliament. Thank you as well to Darcy Spady and to everyone who took part in this by-election. Working together, Canada’s new government will keep building a stronger future for all Albertans and Canadians.”
Poilievre’s landslide win restores him to Parliament after his loss earlier this year and is expected to intensify Conservative challenges to the Liberal government on economic and trade issues.
