Rajeev Sharma :- A pilot and co-pilot were killed while seral others got injured after an Air Canada Express plane collided with a ground truck parked at New York’s La Guardia Airport on Monday. The accident happened as the aircraft was taxiing toward a gate amid bad weather.
Authorities and several rescue teams rushed to the spot.
Audio from air traffic control captured the moments before the collision with controllers warning the vehicle on the ground.
Meanwhile US Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop for all planes at the airport.
Several purported videos of the collision emerged on social media showing rescue operations at the airport. However the videos could not be independently verified. The clip showed the front of the commuter plane smashed and tilting in the air as passengers deplaned from the vehicle.
According to the reports, around 100 passengers were onboard the jet- a Bombardier CRJ-900.
LaGuardia Airport’s website showed all arriving planes have either been diverted to other airports or returned to their point of origin.
