Phillaur Case: Woman Commission Takes Strict Stand on Drugging, Harassment and Video Recording Incident

National Times Bureau :- The Punjab State Women Commission has taken a serious view of the shocking incident reported from Phillaur, where a woman was allegedly given intoxicants, harassed, and recorded on video without her consent.

According to initial reports, the victim alleged that she was forcibly made to consume intoxicating substances before being subjected to physical and mental harassment. The accused also filmed the act, further aggravating the trauma.

Taking strict note of the matter, the Women Commission has demanded swift police action and assured the victim of full support. The Commission chairperson stated that such crimes against women will not be tolerated and directed the local administration to ensure a fair and speedy investigation.

Police officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the accused. Authorities also said the matter is being probed on priority to ensure justice is delivered at the earliest.
