Passenger Urinates on Co-Traveller Aboard Air India Flight from Delhi to Bangkok, Probe Ordered

New Delhi, April 9, 2025: A shocking incident of unruly in-flight behavior unfolded aboard Air India flight AI2336 on Wednesday, when an Indian passenger allegedly urinated on a fellow traveller en route from Delhi to Bangkok.

Air India confirmed the incident in an official statement, saying the crew acted according to protocol and reported the matter to the relevant authorities. “The crew followed all laid down procedures, and the matter has been reported. In addition to warning the unruly passenger, our crew offered to assist the aggrieved passenger to file a grievance with authorities in Bangkok, which was declined at the time,” the airline stated.

The airline also announced that an independent committee would be convened to assess the incident and determine any necessary disciplinary action. “Air India continues to follow the SOPs as laid out by DGCA in such matters,” the airline added.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu responded to the incident, assuring that the government would step in if any lapse is found. “Whenever these kinds of incidents happen, the Ministry takes note. They will speak to the airline, and if there is any wrongdoing, we will take necessary action,” he said.

This is not the first time Air India has been in the spotlight for similar behaviour by passengers, raising renewed concerns about in-flight safety and discipline.
