National Times Bureau :- A tragic road accident was reported in the Morni area of Panchkula on Wednesday morning when a Thar vehicle lost control and plunged into a deep gorge. The vehicle was returning from Morni towards Panchkula at the time of the incident.
According to initial information, four people were travelling in the SUV. One occupant died on the spot due to the impact of the crash, while the remaining three sustained serious injuries.
Police received information about the accident through Dial 112 early in the morning. Rescue teams and local police rushed to the scene and carried out relief operations. The injured were pulled out of the gorge and immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The Station House Officer of Chandimandir police station also reached the spot to assess the situation. The deceased’s body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.
Police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that loss of control on the hilly road may have led to the mishap, though further inquiry is underway.
