Mumbai (Gurpreet Singh): Producers Bhushan Kumar and filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri have announced a new project titled Operation Sindoor, a film that aims to chronicle one of India’s most significant counter-terror operations in recent years.
The film is inspired by the military action undertaken by Indian forces against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the 2025 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people lost their lives. The makers describe the story as an attempt to capture the scale, precision, and implications of the operation.
Drawing from the book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan by Lt Gen KJS ‘Tiny’ Dhillon (Retd), the film is expected to delve into the strategic planning and execution behind the strikes. The project will be jointly produced by T-Series and I Am Budha Productions.
Agnihotri stated that the film will focus on presenting a grounded and research-driven narrative, highlighting the professionalism and decision-making involved in modern military operations. He added that the aim is to bring forward aspects that are often not fully understood by the public.
The filmmaker, known for works like The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, emphasised that the story carries both emotional weight and national significance, making it important to present it with clarity and authenticity.
While the announcement has generated curiosity among audiences, the production team has said that further updates regarding the cast, schedule, and release timeline will be revealed soon.
