Kishtwar (National Times): In a decisive move against cross-border terrorism, Indian security forces have taken down two more Pakistani terrorists in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps confirmed on Saturday. This brings the total number of terrorists eliminated during Operation Chhatru to three.
The anti-terror operation, now in its fourth consecutive day, has pushed forward relentlessly despite treacherous terrain and poor weather. Launching after a strategic intelligence-based search, the operation has uncovered not only militant hideouts but also significant weaponry, including an AK rifle and an M4 carbine, indicating the serious threat level posed by the infiltrators.
The Army’s X handle stated, “Two more Pakistani terrorists eliminated in Chhatru, Kishtwar. War-like stores recovered. Operation continues despite tough weather conditions.”
Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil, overseeing the Kishtwar-Doda-Ramban range, confirmed that the mission remains far from over. “Terrorists are still believed to be trapped. Our forces are determined to neutralise every threat in the area,” he said, emphasizing the Army’s resolve.
The operation also drew praise from senior Army leadership. Lt. Gen. MV Suchindra Kumar, Commander of the Northern Command, lauded the White Knight Corps for their efficiency and courage under pressure, reaffirming the Indian Army’s unyielding stand to rid Jammu & Kashmir of terrorism.
As Operation Chhatru intensifies, it highlights both the growing infiltration attempts from across the border and the Army’s heightened vigilance and readiness to respond with force. The coming days may see further developments as the search for remaining militants continues.
