New Delhi — OpenAI has rolled out ChatGPT Go, a new subscription plan exclusively for Indian users, priced at ₹399 per month. The plan seeks to make advanced AI tools more affordable in one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.
The subscription offers ten times higher message limits compared to the free plan, along with access to image generation, file uploads, memory features, and enhanced Indic language support powered by GPT-5. OpenAI said ChatGPT Go is designed for Indians seeking broader access to premium features at a lower price point.
In a move to simplify payments, the company has enabled UPI India’s most widely used digital transaction system across all subscription tiers.
ChatGPT Go now joins OpenAI’s existing plans: ChatGPT Plus at ₹1,999 per month, which offers priority access and faster response times, and ChatGPT Pro at ₹19,900 per month, catering to enterprises and professionals needing advanced scale and customization.
India has emerged as ChatGPT’s second-largest market after the United States, with millions of users including students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and developers. Company executives believe India could soon surpass the U.S. as its largest market.
Nick Turley, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT, said the team is inspired by how Indians use ChatGPT daily for education, work, creativity, and problem-solving. “With ChatGPT Go, we’re excited to make these capabilities even more accessible and easier to pay for through UPI,” he stated.
Earlier this month, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman highlighted India as an “incredibly fast-growing” AI hub, praising the innovative ways in which individuals and businesses are adopting artificial intelligence.
