One Person Killed After Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing on Prince George Road

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C.( Rajeev Sharma) — A serious aviation incident in Prince George on Thursday afternoon has resulted in at least one confirmed fatality after a twin-engine aircraft made an emergency landing on a busy roadway.

The incident occurred on Foothills Boulevard near North Nechako Road, where the aircraft came down and collided with vehicles on the roadway. Emergency crews, police and other first responders rushed to the scene.

Police have confirmed that one person inside a vehicle died as a result of the incident. Initial information indicated that approximately eight people were aboard the aircraft, although authorities were continuing to assess the situation and confirm the number and severity of any additional injuries.

A large section of Foothills Boulevard has been closed while investigators and emergency personnel remain at the scene. Authorities are asking members of the public to avoid the area and allow emergency crews to carry out their work.

The circumstances that led to the aircraft making the emergency landing have not yet been fully established. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is expected to investigate the aviation-related circumstances surrounding the incident.
