One Killed, Three Injured in Dense Fog Crash on Ferozepur Road in Faridkot

National Times Bureau :- A severe road accident triggered by heavy fog early Saturday morning left one young motorcyclist dead and three others injured on Ferozepur Road in Faridkot. According to police, the collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. when a motorcycle carrying three youths crashed into an overloaded truck moving ahead of them. The impact caused the truck to lose balance and overturn on the road.

The deceased, whose identity is yet to be disclosed by authorities, died on the spot due to the force of the collision. The two other riders, along with the truck driver, sustained serious injuries. All three were rushed to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College & Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Traffic police, led by District Traffic In-charge Sub-Inspector Vakil Singh, reached the site soon after receiving information and worked to restore traffic movement, which had come to a standstill due to the overturned vehicle.

SI Vakil Singh stated that preliminary investigation points to low visibility caused by dense early-morning fog as the primary reason for the accident. He added that further inquiry is underway to determine whether overloading or negligence played any additional role.

The incident has once again highlighted the recurring danger of fog-related accidents in Punjab during winter months, with authorities urging commuters to drive cautiously under poor visibility conditions.
