On Guru Purnima, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Urges Citizens: “Plant Trees for a Healthy Future”

Chandigarh, July 10 – Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini called upon citizens to take a pledge for a greener future by planting trees under the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. The Chief Minister made this appeal while participating in Guru Purnima celebrations held in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Thursday.

During his visit to Jalandhar, CM Saini attended the Guru Purnima event organized at Noor Mahal by the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan. Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri Ravneet Singh Bittu, was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister paid floral tributes before a portrait of Pujya Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and extended heartfelt Guru Purnima greetings to all devotees gathered at the event. He highlighted that Guru Purnima is a sacred day offering the chance to express gratitude towards great spiritual masters who illuminate the path of righteous living.

CM Saini also visited the Kamdhenu Gaushala (cow shelter) located within the Sansthan premises, participating in rituals of cow worship and service.

Later, the Chief Minister visited Baba Mohan Das Ashram in Jalandhar, where he received blessings from Baba Mohan Das Ji Maharaj. Addressing devotees, he expressed his personal connection with Guruji, stating that it was a privilege to seek his blessings annually on Guru Purnima.

Speaking at the event, CM Saini said, “Today, we must also resolve to plant at least one tree under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign. As our environment faces rising pollution and increasing reliance on air conditioning, it is crucial to follow our gurus’ and saints’ teachings by planting trees. This not only helps maintain ecological balance but also combats the challenges of climate change.”

The Chief Minister further emphasized that on Guru Purnima, individuals should pledge to follow the teachings of spiritual masters and saints, working for the welfare of society and the nation.

During his visit, CM Saini also visited Dera Sachkhand Ballan in Jalandhar, offering prayers and receiving blessings. He was warmly welcomed by the Dera management and the community of saints. The Chief Minister paid homage to Guru Ravidas Ji’s teachings, noting that his message of equality, peace, and social harmony continues to inspire generations. He appreciated the Dera’s contributions to social welfare, education, and healthcare.

Highlighting the need to preserve spiritual heritage and promote social unity, the Chief Minister assured the gathering of the government’s full support for the noble efforts undertaken by such revered institutions.

Stopped Convoy to Meet Locals

On his way to Jalandhar, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini halted his convoy in Jamsher village to interact with local shopkeepers and villagers. Stepping out of his vehicle, he greeted residents warmly, inquired about their well-being, and listened to local issues. Villagers expressed happiness over the Chief Minister’s approachable demeanor and candid interaction.
