Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Adding another vibrant chapter to Calgary’s growing multicultural arts and cultural scene, Sushree Academy is bringing the timeless tradition of Odissi classical dance to the city with “Odissi Yatra: From Temple to Stage.” The special presentation will showcase the artistic heritage of Odisha while creating an opportunity for Calgary audiences to experience the beauty, spirituality and storytelling of one of India’s classical dance traditions.

The performance will take audiences on a cultural journey from the sacred temples of Odisha to the contemporary stage, expressed through devotion, rhythm, intricate movements, expression and grace. It will feature Sushree Mishra and the Sushree Academy Ensemble, with support from Calgary Arts Development.
The event reflects Calgary’s diverse cultural landscape, where communities, artists and cultural organizations continue to bring traditions from around the world to local audiences.
