“Not a Single World Leader Asked India to Stop Operation Sindoor," says PM Modi in his Lok Sabha speech

New Delhi (National Times): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) asserted in the Lok Sabha that Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, was carried out with precision and without any international pressure to halt it.

“Not a single world leader told India to stop its operations,” PM Modi declared, dismissing U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims of mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. “Our actions were precise and non-escalatory, exactly as we had committed.”

The statement was made during a 1-hour and 42-minute address in the Lok Sabha, where the Prime Minister outlined the events leading up to Operation Sindoor, its successful execution, and its impact on India’s security posture.

PM’s Call with U.S. Vice-President

Recounting a key conversation, PM Modi revealed that on the night of May 9, U.S. Vice-President J.D. Vance attempted to reach him for over an hour while he was in a security meeting.

“When I called him back, he warned me Pakistan was planning a big attack. I told him clearly: if Pakistan attacks, it will pay a heavy price. And if they escalate, we will respond with an even bigger attack,” Modi said, receiving applause from the treasury benches.

He reiterated that India’s air defence systems had neutralized over 1,000 drones and missiles sent by Pakistan, cementing global recognition of India’s military capabilities.

Pakistan Forced to Call for Ceasefire

Refuting U.S. claims of brokering peace, Modi said: “It was India’s decisive strikes deep into Pakistani territory that forced their Director General of Military Operations to call our DGMO and request a ceasefire.”

The Prime Minister emphasized that Operation Sindoor was paused, not ended, warning Islamabad of consequences if it attempted cross-border terror again.

Strengthening India’s Defence

Highlighting five “new factors” emerging from the operation, Modi praised the synergy among the Army, Navy, and Air Force, enabled by the creation of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) post.

He also noted that India’s defence exports now reach over 100 countries, showcasing the strength of its indigenous military technology.

Attack on Opposition and Historical Context

PM Modi launched a sharp attack on Congress, accusing it of echoing Pakistan’s narrative: “If you listen to Congress and to Pakistan, their language sounds the same. This is not just irresponsible; it’s dangerous.”

He also criticized past Congress governments, citing the Indus Water Treaty, which he said gave away “80% of the Indus water” to Pakistan. “Blood and water cannot flow together. Our government has put this treaty under abeyance,” Modi declared.

Gratitude to Armed Forces

Concluding his address, Modi praised India’s armed forces for their “unmatched courage and precision” in Operation Sindoor and reassured border residents that the government remains committed to national security. “Operation Sindoor has sent a clear message — India will not tolerate terror, and it will respond with strength,” he said.
