NIT Kurukshetra Emerging as a Strong Pillar of Research and Innovation, Says Governor

Kurukshetra, November 30, 2025: NIT Kurukshetra will continue rising as a powerful centre of research and innovation, Haryana Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh said on Sunday. He expressed confidence that the institute, which is rapidly establishing itself as a key pillar of India’s research and innovation ecosystem, will achieve greater heights in the coming years.

Governor Ghosh was addressing young graduates and medal recipients at the 20th Convocation of NIT Kurukshetra. Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated as the special guest.

Congratulating the graduating students, the Governor said their achievements reflect the larger vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. He emphasised that the Haryana government under Chief Minister Saini is strongly committed to education reform, digital governance, industrial partnerships and inclusive rural development.

The Governor highlighted that NIT Kurukshetra has made remarkable academic progress in recent years. The institute now offers 15 undergraduate programmes and 28 postgraduate programmes, including 17 M.Tech courses, four M.Sc programmes, MBA, MCA and integrated B.Tech–M.Tech degrees.

He urged students to treat the convocation not just as a moment of receiving degrees, but as a pledge to use their knowledge with humility, compassion and responsibility. He expressed hope that they would continue to learn throughout their lives and contribute to building a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable India rooted in the vision of One Earth, One Family, One Future.

Innovation Is the Key to Building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that innovation is the only effective way to address modern-day challenges. He urged degree holders and medal-winning students to use their knowledge and skills to simplify real-life problems faced by society.

He added that the youth have the most crucial role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The responsibility of moving the nation towards a developed India rests on the shoulders of young minds. He encouraged them to become job creators, solution providers and leaders of innovation rather than merely seeking employment.

Congratulating all graduates and medal recipients, the Chief Minister said that a convocation is a milestone in the history of any educational institution and marks the beginning of a new journey for every student.
