St. Catharines, Ontario (Rajeev Sharma): The Niagara Indian Association (NIA) celebrated its Inauguration and Founding Day with a grand community gathering at its newly established centre in St. Catharines, bringing together community leaders, elected representatives, business professionals, and members of the Indo-Canadian community.
A major highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) and the Niagara Indian Association (NIA). The agreement is aimed at strengthening collaboration in business development, entrepreneurship, cultural initiatives, community engagement, and networking opportunities for the Indo-Canadian community across Canada.
Representing CHCC, Dr. Rakesh Kantaria, General Secretary, and Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, Director, actively participated in the inauguration ceremony and the MOU proceedings. They congratulated the Niagara Indian Association on its successful launch and expressed confidence that the partnership would create new opportunities for community organizations, entrepreneurs, youth, and professionals through joint initiatives and programs.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from the Consulate General of India, Members of Parliament, Members of Provincial Parliament, regional and city councillors, business leaders, community organizations, and cultural groups. The celebration featured colourful cultural performances, community partner recognition, awards presentations, networking, and refreshments.
The Founding Day celebration concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening unity, preserving Indian heritage, and fostering greater cooperation within the Indo-Canadian community. The newly signed MOU between CHCC and NIA is expected to lay the foundation for future collaborative initiatives that promote economic growth, cultural exchange, and community development.
