Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): A meeting convened by the newly appointed Management Committee of the Dashmesh Culture Centre took place today, providing the community with an update on the Gurdwara’s current financial situation and ongoing development projects. The new committee tackled various pressing issues facing the institution, expressing confidence in their ability to manage challenges effectively and responsibly with the guidance of financial experts and community support.
During the meeting, leadership responded to direct questions from the public and media, showcasing a commitment to transparency and accountability.
Following the community meeting, the new management committee met with media representatives to provide detailed insights into the ongoing financial review process, current challenges, and corrective measures being implemented to strengthen oversight and governance. According to their initial assessment, the current financial strain appears to stem from mismanagement or administrative inefficiencies under the previous administration. However, the committee emphasized that no evidence of intentional wrongdoing or fraud has been found. The new DCC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to financial transparency, responsible governance, and open communication with both the community and the media. Plans are underway to implement corrective measures, enhanced auditing procedures, and improved management practices to ensure accountability and long-term stability.
Community members and media representatives appreciated the proactive approach of the new committee and their willingness to address concerns openly. The management announced that a comprehensive independent financial audit will be conducted, with findings to be shared publicly in the coming weeks. A follow-up community meeting will also be held to discuss progress on reforms and provide updates on development projects.

The new leadership concluded by thanking the community for its continued faith and support, pledging that the Dashmesh Culture Centre will continue to serve as a strong symbol of unity, spirituality, and community service for Calgary’s Sikh community.
